photo image flickr

A fantastic old time shot of Doncaster station in 1976. This shot, taken from a post card, shows the complexcity and the sheer size of the rail network in the 1970’s. Taken from the north this image shows the large 4, bays and the run though lines. There is plenty of points and crossovers for trains to change rails.

  1. Hi, Just seen this. Thanks for posting it . Just a comment, it wasn’t taken from a postcard but by me with my Zenith E from the North Bridge. The scene has changed a bit since! The old GNR/LNER/BR railway works on the right which employed 1000s in Doncaster has since closed.
    Cheers
    Pete

  2. There’s no secret about success. Did you ever know a successful man who didn’t tell you about it?
